BLACK BELT CERTIFICATION
We offer two certificates upon graduation to Black Belt

KUKKIWON: This certification is slightly more expensive than the School Certificate below. This certificate is for students who plan to compete as a Black Belt and is required in most tournaments and competitions. This certificate comes from World Taekwondo located in South Korea. Students who seek to obtain this certificate are required to do the Poomsae or Forms listed on this website at specific levels as they advance through the color belt (below black belt ranks). Additionally, instructor will explain other requirements at class each week.
UNTN: This certificate is for students who plan to earn a Black Belt but for many reasons will not be required to do Poomsae or forms. These students will however learn all the front stance and back stance basics and other stances and techniques common in Taekwondo. This certificate comes from the UNTN HQ in Pennsylvania / USA. Additionally, instructor will explain other requirements at class each week.

NOTEWORTHY: Students who decide or change course to go from the KUKKIWON group to the UNTN group in mid training will experience and easier transition than those moving from UNTN to KUKKIWON. Students who change their mind to go from the UNTN group to the KUKKIWN group in mid training will need to catch up and learn all poomsae required to hold/advance to the next belt or rank. Instructors will explain details in class as well.

Students who either come from another school or who are promoted through the ranks at our school will be required to do all elements required for whatever certification/rank that they seek that being color belt, black belt, and higher black belt ranks. See your instructor for clarity on how this works. Important to know is that students seeking KUKKIWON black belt or advanced black belt ranks but do not have the poomsae or required elements in previous training - will freeze at their current rank until they catch up and do all required elements for KUKKIWON certification. See you instructor for assistance.
